The self- service kiosk is trend that shows how fast the evolution of technology occurs in our world today. A technology that makes a task faster and efficient in a particular company specially in paying our bills. It can extend the service availability 24/7 without the need of a person to operate the system. It gives the benefits for the customer because it reduces the waiting time. There are no more line ups of customer waiting for their transaction. Aside from that many transactions done for a day. Kiosks don't get an attitude with an unpleasant customer, and more importantly, they don't bend or break the rules for persuasive or abusive customers. This is especially important to those of us in financial services, where fraud is often perpetrated by using "human engineering" techniques. It can reduce labor and operating costs. Self-service kiosks, unlike employees, do not need to be paid a salary or a wage, do not require health benefits, can work around the clock, and can process far more information at once than a human. Over time, the cost savings of having self-service kiosks rather than paying an employee can be quite considerable, even to smaller businesses and organizations.

            We all know that having all this benefits or advantages there are always disadvantages that this technology brings. There were many people will be unemployed if kiosks will be implemented in a particular company. Another disadvantage is that it is high maintenance cost and is not always reliable. When you pay you must pay enough amount because the machine will not return your change. Aside from that it will not accept a coins, you must pay a paper bill only.

            We can’t deny the fact that we surrounded by technology. We people should adapt the changes of the world. But we should be more responsible on how we should act in this particular changes. God give us the Intelligent to determine what is wrong and right for us. We should be critical and think deep on how to response the changes .Always be wise in dealing this new technology and more vigilant.  It’s up to us on how we use this technology. In every good there’s an evil thing behind that. Use the technology responsibly to make it useful in our daily life activities.

This kind of technology is much favor to the consumer but not in some carriers here in Philippines if implemented. Consumer can now text without loading their cell phones from the carriers. A much advantage to us because we not bothered for expiration of our loads. We can save much our money in cell phone loads compare if we use carriers. Every now and then we keep on loading our cps. We spend much our money for loads only. If this technology will be implemented here in the Philippines a big thank to the source of this technology.  

The question is what will happen to the carriers? Are they let these things to happen? Definitely, NO. The implementing of this technology can surely loss the profit of their company. We all know that these companies have big contribution to the people by paying their taxes to the government. If this will happen the economy will be declining.

 All things have an advantages and disadvantages. To the consumer it is an advantage for us to save spending much our money for cell phone loads however for the carriers this is a disadvantage. It can really cause a loss or worst a closure of their establishment or companies.

For me as a consumer I would rather adapt this technology if this will be implemented here because I am kind of person that really love in texting. In this technology I’m not worrying about the expiration of my loads. But it’s up to the government if they allow this technology to be implemented. But they should also consider the side of those carriers.

5 Trends to Watch in 2011

As I read the article the trends that mentioned is now present in this year. It just not only is a prediction but reality but unfortunately some of the trends not visible to me. I never experienced some of the trends especially those mentioned in article. With the help of technology those things we want can be possible.

The thing that I really understand is that when the growth of IT becomes wider the new technology is really necessary for its industries or companies. There were many inventions takes place.

The software change rapidly which is really a great help for the companies to make their transactions faster.  The article shows the trends that really happen. I can say that it’s not just an effective for me because I never have one of those trends. But as I observed now in present world I can say that this trends can really make people dependent on the technology that they have.

The technology can replace the people that can result to many unemployed. I rather go back to basic than to have this technology that has a can harm our health as well as to the environment. My opinion is that we cannot stop the technology but we should put in our minds that we are more superior than this technology. We should not let ourselves be more dependent to what the gadgets we have. Be responsible and use it for good.

   

       

Green Computing or Green PCs

       

        

            Climate change happens in our world today because of the waste we throw in our environment. The waste that is a non- biodegradable which can contribute pollution. Many companies of computer only think of their profit not considering the effect of their products to our Mother earth. As a solution for this problem Green computing implemented.

            Green Computing or Green PCs it is the proper disposal of computer equipments. We can say that its environment friendly. When you dispose some those equipments it should not have an impact to the environment. It is also less consumption of energy. It is also learning to use the computer resources efficiently to help the environment as well as energy saving. Green computing helps to promote the usage of biodegradable products and recycle computer components whenever possible.

            It is basically creating recyclable products and reducing pollution in our environment. It is also reduce the use of hazardous materials, and promote recyclables or biodegradability of defunct products and factory waste. Computing uses a large amount of energy that can contribute to global warming. The toxin that we throw will also be the cost of this disaster we experience nowadays.

            As a student we should support the Green computing to lessen all the calamities we experienced. We should also know our responsibility to our environment if we want to stop all this disaster. The cause of all this calamities is we people. We start first in ourselves to be responsible enough in our action. Always think that if we want to stay long here Earth we should learn to care and nurture our Mother Earth.
